Also Known As:
TORCH is a group of infections screened in pregnancy or when congenital infection is suspected. The IgG antibody tests detect past exposure or immunity to each agent. The components tested in Torch are:
Toxoplasma gondii (toxoplasmosis), Rubella, Cytomegalovirus (CMV), Herpes simplex virus (HSV-1 & 2).
This test is used in Antenatal screening to assess maternal immunity and fetal risk.
Investigating neonatal illness or suspected congenital infection.
Preconception screening in some cases.

The Turnaround Time (TAT) for a test depends on the following factors:
- Registration date and time
- Type of scan or test
- Scan time or sample collection time
Please note that in uncommon circumstances, TAT may be delayed due to the complexity of the test or reasons beyond our control. You will be informed about the estimated TAT at the time of registration or after completion of the test.
